Good day to all!
Since the popular builds for Andre as of late have been either Blindside or Heat, I've decided to go in the opposite direction and build him volley. Feedback and suggestions, no matter how minor, are most definitely welcome.
Volley Andre
Face/Fan Favorite/Unbranded/Non-Revo
Backstage: 2
Andre Superstar Card
We Face Each Other...
Maneuvers: 40
1 Giant Head Butt
3 Shoulder Block (T)
3 Chump Punch
3 Super Punch
3 Solarplex Knife Chop
3 Kidney Punch
3 Fisticuffs
3 Cold Cocked
3 Straight Head Butt
3 Straight Clothesline
3 The Ol' Straight-Arm Shot
3 Ap Chaki Kick
3 Back Fist
3 Reverse Clotheline
Reversals: 38
1 It's Not My Fault...
1 OBEY
1 In My Day...
1 Cowboy Bob Interferes
1 Raw Deal Revolution
3 Step Aside
3 Escape Move
3 Reach for the Ropes
3 Elbow to the Face
3 Clumsy Opponent
3 Oversell Maneuver
3 Volley This
3 Chained Heat
3 I Gotta Say, Out of Play
3 Hold the Phone
3 Overshot Your Mark
Actions: 22
1 The 8th Wonder of the World
15 Build Momentum
3 Volley Call
3 Shake it Off (T)
Strategy Notes:
The Backstage Card is primarily used only to reduce your opponent's hand (and force him to play Best Laid Plans), as well as protect you from alternate win conditions. Tons of Volley Maneuvers to just keep pounding your opponent with Mono-Damage until you crash through his defenses. Build Momentum is there to provide some minor recursion and search. A late-game Volley Call (very underrated card) provides MASSIVE recursion which, when timed right, puts your entire Ringside Pile back into Arsenal with just 2 copies. Some Ring Removal is provided for problematic cards like Cerebral Assassin. Despite being a Volley build, don't be afraid to play OBEY when you get the chance - Andre can outlast in the draw-go game.
What do you guys think?
