Evening everyone.
I played Raw Deal back when it first came out all the way through Backlash, where I pretty much fell off, as I did not particularly like the idea of a Backlash Deck at that time. Times have changed, however, and I have recently built a couple of decks to teach my girlfriend and a few other friends how to play.
That said, I have a few questions about some cards.
1.) Hulkin' Up - Throwback
Relevant text: "Can only be played after a successfully played maneuver. Blank that maneuver's text and damage until the end of the turn and end your opponent's turn."
Can I only play this card from my hand, or will it reverse a maneuver if overturned from my arsenal while applying damage? The wording has me confused as to whether or not I can only use this reversal on any maneuver my opponent plays after the first in their turn. Is this the case?
2.) Oversell Maneuver
Relevant text: "Can only be played after a successfully played maneuver. Blank that maneuver's text and end your opponent's turn."
Does this have to come from my hand, or will it apply if it's overturned from my arsenal while applying damage? Also, it seems later printings of this card include the "can only be played after..." text, while the Backlash printing I have does not. Does the later printing's wording overrule the old printing's?
3.) Are there any disadvantages to using "Cheater" cards? Similarly, what's the difference between "Cheater" and "Fan Favorite" cards?
4.) 24-Inch Pythons
The only question I have here is if this card is Unique or otherwise restricted to 1 copy per deck, as it is a "Fan Favorite" card, but makes no mention of anything else that would make me think it is restricted.
5.) Hollywood's Big Boot - Throwback
Text: "When successfully played, you may put 1 Backlash deck card from your Ringside pile into your Backlash deck or you may put the card titled I Am a Real American from your Ringside pile into your Ring area."
The non-Throwback version of this card that came with the Hollywood Hulk Hogan starter deck specifies that Irish Whip must be played directly before it. I see no such stipulation on the Throwback version, so does that mean I don't need to play Irish Whip directly beforehand?
Those are all I can think of. I greatly appreciate any information that anyone is able to give me. I have only been back to playing the game a very short time, and I have a lot to catch up on, it seems.
