124/198 (STARTER DECK EXCLUSIVE - FOIL - "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Logo) "Rowdy" Roddy Piper (Superstar Card) Starting Hand Size: 8 Superstar Value: 5 Legend Superstar Ability: Your opponent's cards with the Restricted Modification Symbol do not have it. During his turn, his Action cards and Maneuver cards with the word "reverse" in the text have blank text.
------
Hi guys,
I'm kinda confused as to how his ability works.
"During his turn, his Action cards and Maneuver cards with the word "reverse" in the text have blank text."
The "his" refer to Piper's opponent right? Also, does this mean that the opponent still can use cards like Nerve Hold or Eye Rake to reverse my cards? Shouldn't hybrid cards like these have blank text because of the ability?
Would appreciate it greatly if someone can explain! Thanks!

yes the "his" refers to piper's opponent. as for nerve hold, eye rake, etc. he can use them but they have blank text.

"He" meaning the opponent or "he" meaning Piper in this case?
If its the opponent, how can he use Eye Rake and such to reverse my cards if they have blank text?
If so, shouldn't Eye Rake and the like can only be used for a 1 damage maneuver because of Piper's ability?

piper's oppnenent can still use hybrid reversals to reverse cards but they have blank text during piper's opponent's turn. E.g piper's opponent uses Back Rake to reverse a Grapple. but he(piper's opponent) don't get the irreversible effect from Back Rake since the card is blanked during his turn.

I actually believe that your opponent would still acquire the effect of using back-rake or nerve hold as a reversal since the text was set into play as it should be with the reversal and that it now APPLIES an added effect to the first card played on piper's opponent's next turn. So if Piper throws a maneuver and its reversed with Back Rake, his opponent should still get the irreversible effect, because the actual back-rake text has now transferred into the card being played
