Well today was very nice, good weather, and me and my dad did not argue, which is amazing if u know me on a personal level. I prepaired for a good day of gaming by drinking a 2 liter of Mtn Dew. Which is better than any box of wheaties.
While I awaited the arrivel of Mattman, I pondered on who I should use, I had a G-berg set up, but he was a new deck to me since I built him the night before. Rey, which has already proven itself to be a top contender. X-pac, he is the tourny champ of the year. Dude Love, nuff said. And A-Train. I picked Rey
We got underway with 6 ppl showing up
Here is the Breakdown
Trevor *me* Rey
Jesse: HOTN
Taylor: Heat Evo
Joey: Eddie
Joel: Los G
John: Benoit
We are playing 4 rounds of swiss then cutting to a final. AA style
ONCE AGAIN NO MANAGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Round 1
Rey Vs Evo
Taylor is a very interesting player. He did not prepare for a tourny since he is not down in St.Helens that often. This was a make-shift Heat evo with help greatly needed. I start the match as usual, I do the blindside choke 3 times before it stuck. This creating a small hand for Rey to run on. I had a oversell in my hand, which at the rate things were going for me, I would not care if Taylor got a little bit of fortitude, so I oversell his Double Underhook Back Breaker. I flip blindsides, which is a great thing for this deck. Blindside kick, it gets reversed on 5, Stun Value. He throws Lariet, I manager. Suicide Strike. It killed him. I would like to point out that Taylor is a child prodigey in Raw Deal, he has some of the best ideas, just no cards to support these ideas.
round 2
Rey Vs HOTN
Jesse's deck is quite good. Given that he also has a limited card pool. He has a good grasp of how my deck works. So he thinks that he has got me figured out, but he played highlight reel, which in most cases is a good card to play, not against heat or blindside decks, so I flip with ease. Thus netting me alot of Blindside cards. I do the usual stuff with Regal, Taunt, Showtime. Etc. I start, I push a Blindside Choke after 2 attempts. To Jesse's dismay, he drew no 0's. Which is a real shame, he usually puts up a good challenge, but not this game. I chain heat his chain wrestling. Which is his only chance of getting a 0 that entire game. So I slowly mill away with Blindside kicks, suicide strike, and West Coast Pop.
At this point Mattman shows up, so I meet him and show him the whole "Raw Deal Crowd" of the Pacific Northwest. Nice guy to, also a good grasp on the game.
Back to the tourny
Round 3
Rey Vs Los G
This game is really not vaild since Joel admitted to cheating. But I will explain what happend. I do the usual stuff. I play blindside choke 3 times, Rechazo, Strangle x2. Me being the moron that I am I forget about ICBRTR'S. So im screwed. Joel runs over me since I had no hand.
Joel admitted that he stacked the Strangles on top of his deck, but this was after the tourny.
Round 4
Rey Vs HOTN
I had to play Jesse since me and him had the same record at this point and this would decide who would play Joel in the finals since at the time he had a perfect record. This match was just like the first one, he could not draw a zero and I pounded him with blindsides. I am not sure if Jesse's deck is cursed against Rey or not, but belive me, on a good day this deck is very lethal.
Finals
Rey Vs Los G
This game was also very similar. I throw the blindside choke 5 times before it sticks, still getting hit with 2 strangles. But after the critical play error of not returning the ICBRTR'S I remember to and thus me kicking joels can in. He gets his fortitude off reversals and a few high risks, but his deck runs out of gas. So I slowly mill his deck away with blindside manuvers.
I hope you enjoyed the Tourny Report
