Well, since last week we had All Axcess, we decide to have a Afterburn deck this week. I look through my arsenal of decks and see that none of them look good to play. Made my deck at 5:30 in the morning. Are friends from Santa Barbara came down, aswell as our friend Patrick and his friend. So we have 11 in total.
Superstars:
x2 Rey Mysterio
x1 Theodore Long
x1 Batista
x1 The Hurri-Friends
x1 Junkyard Dog
x1 John Bradshaw Layfield
x1 Matt Hardy
x1 Chris Benoit
x1 Heidenrich
x1 Rob Van Dam
Rob gets alot of help this set so I make him.
Round 1 - Rob Van Dam Vs. Matt Hardy
Wasn't too worried because Matt Hardy just throws Grapples. I get my fortitude by hitting Mr. Monkey Night. Game goes slow from there, with me getting fortitude with reversals. I hit Rolling Thunder and get some more fortitude. I break through his wall of red and I win with Lock, Stock, and Barrel. Turns out a 0f 16d (After RVD's Ability) Multi Strike that can be searched for with R-V-D, is really really good.
Result: Pin Win 1 - 0
Round 2 - Rob Van Dam Vs. Junkyard Dog
I played against JYD the night before and it was a rough matchup against my MNM. Hopefully this time it'd be different. I throw Lock, Stock and Barrel 1st turn but it gets Jimmy'd. He throws a Grapple after Rocket Buster and I play Restricted Use and a Escape Move. My turn I run out of steam and he just destroys me from there. I got to 7 fortitude with Monday Night and Volley This and needed 1 more for Steel Chain Shot.
Result: Pin Loss 1 - 1
Round 3 - Rob Van Dam Vs. Rey Mysterio
I hit my lock stock and barrel 1st turn, and just go crazy aggro on him. Late game he has like 3 fortitude. He has Rochester out and just keeps shuffling back shit. He has about 8 cards and Forever and Too Fast in deck. I throw a Steel Chain and it goes to 6. Now he just starts shuffling back and passing. I keep throwing maneuvers, drawing stun off of them. He has 2 cards left in deck, Forever and Too Fast, and I play Strat. He overturns them both. No cards in deck, 3 in hand, which I saw and he had nothing, and I throw a Lock, Stock and Barrel for the win.
Result: Pin Win 2 - 1
Round 4 - Rob Van Dam Vs. Heidenrich
Well the Heidenrich player fount out in all three of his matches that his opponent's deck were illegal, yes all 3 matches. So he decides to ask the TO to check my deck. He checks it and everything checks out to be fine. I ask the TO to check his deck just because I'm cool like that. He laughs and finds Steel Chain Shots in a Face deck. So he gets DQ'ed and I win. Simple Enough.
Result : Pin Win 3 - 1
Top 4 Entrys:
1st: Rey Mysterio
2nd: Rob Van Dam
3rd: Batista
4th: Junkyard Dog
Semi-Finals: Rob Van Dam Vs. Batista
Normal stuff happens. He starts and screws me over by playing Change in Programming Lineup, which screws my R-V-D card. Good thing I have RVD's new uber prematch card. He throws his TB Spinebuster and I reverse with Gotta Say, Outta Play. My turn and I use my ability and hit Cold Cocked. That was basically game over. I manhandled him with Maneuvers and he doesn't hit any moves all game. I hit the Frog Splash for the win.
Result: Pin Win 4 -1
Finals: Rob Van Dam Vs. Junkyard Dog
I'm worried this match that I'll die again. This time I play my Hidden Dragon pre-match card. 1st turn he throws a grapple and I reverse with escape. My turn I hit Mr. Monday Night, use my ability, Extreme Monkey Flip, use hidden dragon to get Rolling Thunder, play Rolling Thunder and pass. So basically I get enough stuff to do anything 1st turn. I throw L,S,& B but it gets Jimmy'd. Next turn I throw another one and it goes through. I win with the Frog Splash aswell this game.
Result: Pin Win 5 - 1
Well I win with RVD which is surprising because I made this deck barely 8 hours before the tournament. I get to choose from the new TK4 kit and I go with Jimmy Hart, since I don't need anymore siggies. Well next week is All Axcess and thats gonna be a pain to find a deck for that but hopefully it'll happen. Till' Next Week!
