Even if you aren't a fan of Halo, it's still worth checking out. And if you can't get download it off the web site (Season 1 isn't up there anymore, as far as I can tell), your local GameStop should have the DVDs in stock, or you can order the DVDs off the website too.

it's the archive, where you can watch multiple episodes. Think of it as a web based TV show

you have to click on one of the episodes and then click on low res. videos because you have to be a sponsor to get the high res ones

The term is "machinima," and it's not limited to Halo or Halo 2's game engine. In fact, I believe the genre actually kicked off using the Counter Strike engine, and if anyone is interested, they can look around, and possibly find a machinima of just about any game.
Red vs. Blue is a hilarious series and well worth investing into, either through buying up a membership to the site to download all of their episodes plus the additional extras (Public Service Announcements, or PSA's, short clips, advertisments, etc.), or to purchase up the DVD's, with additional bonuses (some of which can be found on their site, and others, exclusive to the DVD). Definitely worth the the time and money, very entertaining.

A more serious one is www.thecodexseries.com/ which is a take on the actual halo2 storyline. Rooster teeth also puts out The Strangerhood, but I don't find it that interesting. If I find more, I will let everyone know.

Actually, from the get go, they only used Halo, I've seen how they done it (and sctually remade a few of the episodes to see if it was truly how it was done, it was). I still state that if you are looking to kill some time, it's worth the investment. You can even use it as a distracting background when playing a certain card game, perhaps?

Rooster Teeth initially started with Halo, but other machinimas started up using other engines. I found a small article explainning machinimas and how they started, but I'd have to locate it again.
I believe the article stated it started off with the Counter Strike engine.
